Fire and Rescue

This programme has been designed in collaboration with professional educators and the Fire and Rescue Service to help teach fire safety. In order to target learning, specific Fire Safety Learning Objectives have been identified within the following key areas for pupils aged between 4–11 years:

Fire safety: prevention, detection and escape
Hoax calls
Fire setting and arson

This programme is designed to be delivered primarily by teachers with the support from local Fire and Rescue Services.

The knowledge and experience of fire safety issues that you have will add impact and credibility to the programme. Included within the programme are lessons that are suitable for delivery by either a teacher or a CFS Officer – you should discuss these and agree with the teacher as to which of you is best suited to deliver these.
