This programme has been designed in collaboration with professional educators and the Fire and Rescue Service to help teach fire safety. In order to target learning, specific Fire Safety Learning Objectives have been identified within the following key areas for pupils aged between 4–11 years:

Fire safety: prevention, detection and escape
Hoax calls
Fire setting and arson

The material provided in this section of the site is mainly designed to be delivered by teachers. Also included are lessons that are suitable for delivery by either a teacher or a CFS Officer – you should discuss these lessons and agree with your local Community Fire Safety Officer (CFS Officer) which of you is best suited to deliver these. If you have not already been contacted by your local Fire and Rescue Service, you can enquire at Fire and Rescue HQ to see if they are operating a programme in your area.
