The Fabulous Baker Brothers is a brand new six-part series that covers the exploits of two Cotswold based brothers, Tom and Henry Herbert, one of whom is a baker and the other a butcher.

At the end of each episode, the brothers go head-to-head in a battle to win over some judges in a pie judging competition.

They are asked to bake a pie with a theme - for example, a 'love pie' to coincide with Valentine' s Day, a 'cheap pie' for a group of students and, for the episode featuring our firefighters, a 'fast pie.'

The first episode started on Channel 4 on Wednesday 4th January at 8.30pm and our firefighters can be seen on this week's episode on Wednesday 11th January, at 8.30pm.

During mid-December 2011, four firefighters from Stroud White Watch - Chris Barton, Pete Steadman, Rosie Tully, Jim Harley and former member of staff, Tom Oakes, found themselves on the set of a new Channel 4 television programme.

On the day of filming, the firefighters were 'called out' and the two brothers had to meet them at the bottom of the pole, holding the pies. The firefighters had to take the pies as they responded to an emergency.

The firefighters were eating the pies whilst putting up ladders and using jets - and the brothers were following them around telling them their pie was better than the other.

Deputy Chief Fire Officer, Geoff Sallis, said: "Congratulations to members of staff at Stroud White Watch for being involved in this television series.

The Fabulous Baker Brothers are from Gloucestershire as well, so this episode will be a real treat for our residents.

I hope people tune in to not only this episode featuring our firefighters, but the rest of the series, to support these very talented men

I, for one, can't wait to see this particular episode."

Cllr Will Windsor-Clive, Gloucestershire County Council Cabinet Member for communities, said: "What a great opportunity for our firefighters to increase their profile by being involved in a brand new television series.

I hope they enjoyed the filming and I will be tuning in to watch them in action"
