Don't miss the opportunity to be involved in Gloucestershire's first interactive educational centre and help people of all ages live, work and play more safely.
SkillZONE is a new state of the art life size village based in Tuffley, Gloucester, which will open in September.
It is an interactive learning environment designed to teach people of all ages how to recognise dangerous situations and stay safe.
SkillZONE will be staffed by existing fire service staff and the volunteer guides are being recruited only to guide groups around the scenarios and to encourage visitors to identify dangers and actions to reduce the risk.
If you are able to communicate with people of all ages and backgrounds and are reliable and confident, please contact us on: volunteer@glosfire.gov.uk to request an application pack. Everyone is welcome to apply.
If you are successful, you will receive full training and will be required to give a minimum of two days per month.
Tim Lanfear, Station Commander for Skills for Life said: "As a volunteer you will be a highly valued member of the SkillZONE team and will be key to the development of the centre."
"It is also a fantastic opportunity to gain work experience and learn some valuable skills."
"If you would like to find out more about becoming a volunteer please don't miss your chance, do it now!"
Councillor Will Windsor-Clive, cabinet member for communities, said: "The new SkillZONE will help us to promote community safety and reduce serious injuries and deaths in homes, at work and in local areas."
"The volunteers will be a very important member of the team so if you are interested, please don't hesitate to find out more about how you can get involved with Gloucestershire's first interactive education centre."
