Local people are being invited to an open day at Gloucester North community fire station on Sunday 14th July from noon to 3pm.

Members of the public can watch live firefighting demonstrations, see Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service's hovercraft and rescue boats and learn more about the service's large animal rescue teams and specialist appliances.

There will also be a bouncy castle, Birds of Prey and road safety displays at the Churchdown fire station.

Cllr Will Windsor-Clive, cabinet member for fire, planning and infrastructure, said: "This is a great opportunity for residents to see all the ways in which the fire and rescue service helps to keep them safe. But it's also a chance for families to enjoy what should be a sunny summer's day and take part in some fun activities."

Refreshments including tea, coffee and ice cream will be available to buy.
