Emergency services event to showcase SkillZONE

Gloucestershire's state-of-the-art safety education centre will take pride of place at a national showcase event on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th September.

The Emergency Services Show, which takes place at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham, will feature an exhibition dedicated to the county's SkillZONE centre, promoting its availability as a conference, team building and training venue.

Visitors to the SkillZONE stand in halls 17 and 18 and the outdoor event area will be able to see images of the purpose-built centre and discuss ways in which it could help host events. Entry to The Emergency Services Show and parking at the venue is free and people can register at

Maria Boon, head of prevention at Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service, said: "We have a unique venue in which we are able to provide bespoke conference facilities and this gives us the perfect chance to showcase the centre and discuss ways in which agencies and organisations can work with us for their own needs."

The Emergency Services Show includes everything from free workshops, seminars and live rescue demonstrations to the latest vehicles and equipment used by emergency services nationwide.

Cllr Will Windsor-Clive, cabinet member for fire, planning and infrastructure, said: "We are rightly delighted with the county's SkillZONE centre and the schools and organisations that have already visited have nothing but great things to say about the lessons they've learned in this incredible environment."

"This show is an opportunity to tell everyone what a success the centre has been and invite even more to experience everything it has to offer."
