Fire and Rescue Improvement Framework

The Fire & Rescue Service nationally are undergoing a process of improvement and the government sets out key areas of national importance which individual Services should be addressing.

The National Framework 2006-08 document sets an overall target to:-

"By 2010, reduce the number of accidental fire related deaths in the home by 20% and the number of deliberate fires by 10%"

Link to the Audit Commission WebsiteIn delivering this Service delivery target the government places continuous improvement and use of resources (value for money) at the core of achieving service delivery outcomes. The Fire & Rescue Service is therefore subject to a number of external assessments undertaken by the Audit Commission.
