Arson Task Force and Crimestoppers - DVD

The Arson Task Force in conjunction with Crimestoppers releases "Cool Stuff" a video in DVD format.

The production centres on a group of bored youths, two of which steal a car and go off on a joyride. The pair are spotted by the police, who give chase; the youths dump the car a set it on fire, the boy is later arrested and charged.

The opening sequence is of a large fire in Gloucester, the mother of two of the youth’s works in the building concerned; later it is revealed that the mother has died as a result of the fire.

The Crimestoppers “Rat on a Rat” poster is prominent, as is the phone number.

Arson does indeed kill, although in this actual fire in Gloucester there were no injuries, nationally 2 people a week die as a result of an arson attack and many more suffer injuries.

The DVD will be used as an educational aid in Gloucestershire schools and youth groups; Crimestoppers has shown the DVD at the National Crimestoppers Conference with the aim of national distribution.
