If you have any difficulties hearing, seeing or moving about, you need to take extra care to deal with the risk of fire. The good news is that there are particular solutions to the problems you may face.

If you take a few simple steps, learn a few good habits and avoid some bad ones, you can avoid almost all fires in the home

If a fire does start, the right equipment will save your life...

Smoke Alarms - are the single piece of equipment most likely to save you from a fire. They give you time to get out alive

• Install and maintain smoke alarms. Contact us on 0800 180 41 40 to arrange your FREE Home Safety Visit. Our staff will install FREE smoke alarms if required.

If you have difficulties hearing, seeing or moving around, you may need to take special steps to make sure the alarms work for you. The leaflet above will give you details of the types of alarms available for your situation.
